Big Mac Sliders Recipe With “Special Sauce”
I’m going to go out there and say that these Big Mac Sliders are a home run. Yep, an over the fence, out of the park home run.
Because that’s how flipping amazing these beef sliders are. And you know I wouldn’t lie to you guys, take me word that you will be making this dinner recipes like all the time.
Make these ground beef sliders for dinner, for parties, for potlucks or even appetizers. These sliders taste just like biting into a Big Mac, only in my opinion, even better. Why is it better? Well it’s homemade so you know it’s got to be better FOR you.
And for two, it’s a super easy dinner recipe that the whole family is going to love. I guarantee it. If you can’t find these little sesame seed slider buns you can use any slider buns, or even go big with a regular size sesame seed bun.
What is Special Sauce?
Here’s a little hint for you too…the special sauce in this sloppy joe recipe isn’t just added on top…it’s mixed right in with the beef. Any of you who know McDonalds Big Mac sandwiches know what special sauce is. But in case you have been under a rock for 30 years or so, here it goes:
Special Sauce Ingredients:
Mayonnaise
Ketchup
Pickle relish
White vinegar
Garlic powder
Salt
Instead of making a big burger patty, I turned this dish into a loose meat sandwich similar to a sloppy joe. Mixing that special sauce right in with the onions and beef to make these sliders super creamy and super delicious.
I Know what you’re thinking too…mayonnaise is a hot beef filling??? TRUST.
I’m never going to steer you wrong when I’m talking about epic food recipes here, you have to just try it for yourself and see. One of the things I love is hearing people tell me that even their “super picky eaters” love our recipes. Because not only are they fun to eat but they are fun to look at!
Like they say, we eat with our eyes first and these sliders are a work of art.
Can You Make These Big Mac Sliders Ahead of Time?
The answer is mostly, yes.
You can make the filling ahead of time, but I do recommend doing it a certain way. Make the beef filling and the sauce separately.
Then right before serving heat up the beef filling and mix the sauce in with it while it’s warm. That way these sliders are the best tasting, creamiest versions of themselves. Like I said, there is mayonnaise in this special sauce recipe so you want it to be fresh when you heat it up with the beef.
Right before serving assemble the beef filling onto the buns with the pickles and cheese. And yes, if you’ve got picky eaters that for instance don’t like pickles? Leave them off. They might graduate to that perfect pickle bite sooner or later…
You can also make this recipe on full size hamburger buns if you don’t have sliders available. Or if you’re serving these sliders for dinner instead of appetizers you might want to just go ahead and use a larger bun. Totally up to you, they’ll be just as tasty!

What size are cheeseburger sliders? This all depends on the size of the roll! This recipe uses just over a pound of ground beef (1.25 pounds to be exact) and makes 12 sliders. Plan on using about 1.5 to 2 ounces of meat per slider if you have a pound of meat.
According to a video posted by TikTok influencer Mike Haracz, a former McDonald's corporate chef, Great Value brand Secret Sauce is the closest thing you'll get to the fast food chain's Big Mac sauce.
The McDonald's Big Mac® is a 100% beef burger with a taste like no other. The mouthwatering perfection starts with two 100% pure all beef patties and Big Mac® sauce sandwiched between a sesame seed bun. It's topped off with pickles, crisp shredded lettuce, finely chopped onion, and a slice of American cheese.
What size are hamburger sliders? Each slider should be about 2 ounces and so you will get 8 sliders per pound of meat. Sliders should be uniform in size and thickness to ensure even cooking.
3 sliders per serving is generally recognised as the norm, though any amount can be consumed. Many restaurants & fast food outlets serve sliders whether it is as a snack to partner up with a chilled beer, or as a collection to enjoy as the main event.
3 oz portion is similar in size to a deck of cards ▪ 1 oz of cooked meat is similar in size to 3 dice. A 1-inch meatball is about one ounce. 4 oz of raw, lean meat is about 3 ounces after cooking.
The answer is no… but they are similar. Both of the condiments have a creamy consistency and include pickle relish. But, McDonald's Big Mac Sauce includes vinegar and has a bit more pickle relish in it than Thousand Island dressing.
Available in restaurant, in Drive-Thru, via the My McDonald's App, and also via McDelivery, now is the time to try Big Mac® Special Sauce with any McDonald's menu items whether that's Chicken McNuggets, Veggie Dippers... or perhaps a Big MacFlurry…?
SHOPPERS are praising Aldi's burger sauce and say it tastes the same as McDonald's Big Mac one. In even better news for bargain hunters, it costs just 79p a bottle at the discounter. In other words, creating your own McDonald's "fakeaway" at home has never been easier nor cheaper.
As the jingle goes, the Big Mac is comprised of “two all-beef patties, Special Sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.” We know the double patties, triple bun, and rehydrated onions make up a large part of the Big Mac's success, but, you can't talk about a Big Mac without talking about the Special ...
Every one of our McDonald's burgers is made with 100% pure beef and cooked and prepared with salt, pepper and nothing else—no fillers, no additives, no preservatives. We use the trimmings of cuts like the chuck, round and sirloin for our burgers, which are ground and formed into our hamburger patties.
Sliders are smaller than burgers and often contain less meat, but they are also more portable and more uncomplicated to eat. Burgers can be messy but are more filling and typically have more nuanced flavors.
It is important to set an optimal slider size with which you will work. Don't work with too big sizes. An optimal size for a slider is 1200px width and 500-800px height.
History. The name "slider" is believed to have been first used to describe the onion-steamed small burgers at White Castle restaurants. The term has since been picked up by other restaurants, usually to describe a small hamburger, but sometimes used to describe any small sandwich made with a slider bun.
Divide the ground beef into 12 portions (about 2 ounces each). Pat each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty and make an indentation in the center with your thumb so the patties keep their shape while cooking.
Combine 3 pounds of ground beef with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and black pepper. Press the mixture into a large patty forming a flat layer to fit inside an 11-by-15-inch Pyrex baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Broil at 400 degrees for 3 minutes.
Classic burger patties tend to be about 4 – 6 oz. We lean towards a 6 oz patty for a thick, juicy burger. Divide your meat into even portions or use your kitchen scale if you want to be exact. Form the ground beef portions loosely into balls.
How much pulled pork for a slider? Since bbq pork sliders are about half the size of a normal burger, figure 2-3 sliders per person, depending on your guests. Each slider will take between 2-3 ounces of pulled pork.
