#sims 3 roleplay | mookymilksims (2024)

I like having aesthetically pleasing community lots with just as much cc as my residential lots. If you are mindful of your cc and builds you can have a smooth game playing experience.

Many of the lots in this list I have already built and play tested so that I can make the suggestions that I do in order for you to get the same results in game. I like to add as much functionality that I can squeeze in without ruining the realism or aesthetic. Having a lot that takes up space in a world just for looking at might as well be a rabbit hole that I can’t even do anything with. So one of my biggest concerns with starting a long play through in the Sims are my Sims just staying home and never really having anywhere to go. This is why I take the time I do to find the perfect world, build up all the lots, and add as much variety as I can. So that if I even wanted to make a Sims a weekly schedule in where they are doing something different every day, I can do that. I can randomly decide I want my sim to go to this lot or that lot and never run out of ideas or ways to spice up my Sims lives. I also push them to go to certain lots that would fit their character more, but that’s also why I add so much variety. The good news is many of these lots can be built on very small lot sizes and just plopped down into your worlds (Or combined with other lots). I try to make the styles as versatile as possible so they can blend seamlessly into most of the worlds I like to play in. The pros to this are smaller lots means you can pack more CC onto it, and get much more detailed, and after boosting your game’s memory you’ll never have to worry about memory crashes from these kind of builds.

However for this section of lot list idea’s we will be mostly focusing on: Leisure. So I’m talking about those days where you have no idea where to send your sim, what to have them do, they’ve been home so long they are stir crazy. You want them to go do something fun or interesting. On a whim or planned. Tired of going to the same places for dates. Having more places to take your friends out or meet new people. Using the Welcome mat mod, and transmogrify certain obj to the welcome mats script, combined with MCM mod (or even making it obsolete), Sims are going to always show up to these lots no matter what, so you wouldn’t have to worry about these lots being empty.

For this portion I want to focus on entire vacation worlds. Take the time to build them up, save the NDH files in a backup folder. Placed them in your saves so when you use Nraas Traveler to travel there, everything is already set up and ready to play. I believe you can even save the season you were on so if you want to wait until its winter for a winter themed vacation world that should translate into your other save from the ndh file.) So I’ve been thinking of placing several lots around each other to make a much larger area so I can focus on certain sections in more detail instead of making a smaller version of the overall lot.

· Ultimate Summer Vacation World(medium-small size) - Grand Amusem*nt park. One section -roller coaster ride, gift shop, outdoor food trucks. One section - Park attractions (carousal, ferry ride themed haunted mansion (using monte vista boat system through a spooky themed building, Ferris wheel), arcade objects. One section - 3D theater attractions (open cinema lots with specific themes and walk through’s with play goggles). One section - Disney themed resort hotel.

· Camping world- Perfect world for this build project ishere. The world for the most part is already done, I would just add my personal touches to the lots. Ultimately want a few large camping lots, one basecamp, one resort. The focus would be on getting into nature and away from the city. So I would add a lot of various outdoor activities. Of course with the generations sleeping bags it means I can have open tents in game, sims can sleep under the stars.Take a strollmod for “Hiking” adventures. Build a large curvy pool sheltered by rocks to give off a“Lake” impression. Hopefully Sims can get in and out with no issues. Then created a boardwalk around that“lake”. I would edit the houses, make a poorer and wealthier versions of rental houses, add some locals. The boardwalk lot in this world is a bit laggy for me, I think it’s the location of the lot itself but I would build a smaller more optimized boardwalk with a cleaner arcade, pizzeria, ice cream shop, Ferris wheel, carousal, and skate rink. Alternatively, this lot can be used for summer camp roleplay’s. You can take child teen sims with your current child teen sims in the household to this lot, no adults. (Add camp staff with custom role generator). They return when summer is over.

· Revamped Hidden Springs- Focus mostly on spa and relaxation for this world. It doesn’t feel like a living kind of world. But alternatively there are other smaller vacation inspired worlds that get the same extreme spa treatment vibe done. I would focus on Oasis aesthetic, meditation, massages. I want to try a functional waterfall shower. Pretty much anything that can leave your sim feeling rejuvenated. For these worlds I can build a lot more upscale, expensive eateries and shopping districts as well.

· Revamped Monte Vista – It has such beautiful architecture, but I would recolor a lot of it, add more plants, and personally there is a lot of empty spaces on the lots for my taste. So unless I can use a room for actual activity or functionality I would just black it out. As well as editing the townies, it’s Italy. I’m thinking I could send a woman during her midlife crisis there and she falls in love. Lol. So there needs to be some eligible bachelors. But also, it’s a good world for weddings, honeymoon. Although you can have the wedding in Italy, and the honeymoon in France.

· Revamped Champs Les Sims – Needs a lot of updating with all the expansion packs and store content. I would make a lot more romantic

This concept can be applied to all the EA world’s personally, you can easily do revamp projects for all of them.

I preferably would like to have this all on a medium-small sized island, a place where sims wanting to go on real vacations can head here, it’s put in place specifically for families in mind. With the tourist system in NRAAS Traveler and randomization of NPC’s sent to the resort and basecamp lots sims can befriend (or hate) all kinds of Randoms. Would use custom role generator to create Disney princesses and look for random costumes with the head’s.

I’m over the classic art gallery lots in my worlds as they get boring fast and while I come up with creative ways to keep them interactive and entertaining I think a proper world should have several kinds of museums.

· Zoo- One section - Aquatic/aquarium w/ a whale pool auditorium, lobby, and gift shop, alternatively add a water park. One section - Jungle animals, green flora. One section - bird terrarium w/ live birds in cages, green house aesthetic 3-stories. One section - Farm animals w/ interactive farm house and barn (grow station, cow stand, chicken coop, blowing station, archery station, horse stalls).

· Dinosaur exhibition- Using thisset, 1 dinosaur a room with indoor plants and greenery. An exhibition section using thisset, where objects are interactive. A savvier seller souvenir shop with stone age/dinosaur inspired mini gifts. Designated area’s to take pictures with pose player.

· Modern Art museum- As implied with cc art, sculptures and gift shop. Would like to add a café as well to give sims more things to do if they should come to this lot for a date or outing, etc.

· Sculpting studio- I have a lot of high quality statues through my various cc shopping hauls for some reason, and when I barely play as a wealthy sim and can only place so many high end restaurant's in my world at a time there isn’t much else usage for these statues. So a bunch of these statutes on one lot, in a garden/courtyard with tea time tables (possibly an alice in wonderland theme on the outside). On the inside have a sculpting class (good idea for dates), wine and sculpting class, wine and painting class, with a modern nectary on the lot. An office space for the owner (custom role generator). Glass blowing stations and shipping dock (small owned business that supplies vases? lol). You get to take home whatever you make, lol.

Random Community lot idea’s to give sims a variety of things to do.

· Hookah Lounge- with custom Indian foods and smoking mod objects. I imagine I would use curtains more than I ever have in my entire simming life on this lot. I would like sims to be able to sit on the floor and blow bubbles, but I’m thinking I would place the stations in a lower platform to give off the illusion they are sitting on the floor.

· Trap House- where sims go to do drugs, this can come in different variations. A party trap house, grunge, messy, broken glass, beer station. You can throw mostly parties on this kind of lot. I’ve created one before that was a dance club, so sims would go to this lot on their own, with the fog emitter crowd cheat and deco people it always looked full. A rundown trap house, just a sad, dirty lot with corpses where sims will take the more extreme pills and trip out for hours on the lot. A lived in trap house, with custom role generator add a fake sim family with a drug dealer (or 2) with specific traits for the druglord mod that you can buy drugs from them. Once you befriend these npc’s you can invite them over for their services, and once dismissed they will go right back to the lot. This lot itself would look a little more lived in with a baby room and somewhat working kitchen, etc (could also double as the criminal rabbit hole, adding the chin up bar and weight lifting machine to a garage would help the ultimate career sims stay busy and gain performance, changing their career outfits to look a little more street style-y and less obvious, etc).

· Photo studio/modeling agency–The photo studio itself is valuable to my world for several reasons. 1) combined with the pose-player add on mod, even having just one pose player in the entire world makes it so all sims anywhere at any moment can pose for me. This means if I want to quickly put together a scene with sims through the pose list I can. This is why I spend the time I do decorating and detailing community lots. If my sims go out to eat I may want to capture that moment (adding a bit more for cinematic effect), or anywhere in the world. I want the whole world to look and be picture ready for Fraps and Reshade. 2) I can actually have sims come to the studio and pose in front of a green screen/white screen for more professional photo’s where I want to edit the background myself instead. Both of these make the photo studio functional to me and the sims for storytelling. Also, can roleplay a photographer who is accomplished, owns the building, a red room where they process the photos. Add staff, scout the town for models. Put together fake stories like taking pictures for advertisem*nts, etc. Same can be done for a videographer. Add an office space, have them practice writing, or write a book titled the name of the business “Files”, adds an extra responsibility for self-employed sims to do under any of those careers tbh.

· Bath House –This gives credit to Mahri Rae Sims over on youtube, she built a bathhouse in one of her older builds that I thought was a really awesome idea. Just using the ticket machine, gender and neutral themed rooms with jacuzzi’s in them. Sims will show up and just relax in them like how they do in Japan, etc. It’s pretty cool to see, as well as the shower rooms. Since these are the only objects you want on your lot so sims will actually use them the most, you can spend most of the other space on the lot decorating it. I would also use fog emitter and create a fake steam kind of effect, cuz I’m extra and want it to feel like an anime.

· Karaoke Bar –Transmogrify mirror microphone stand into karaoke machine. Rather than just adding another bar, I would add custom alcoholic drinks to be buyable instead. As I like to switch things up from time to time and think the karaoke bars in Asia are a bit more reliant on people servicing themselves. So sims can buy their own liquor at self-checkout (and “order” their own food to their booth by buying custom food placing dishes/plates on the tables in the booth so I can put the custom food on surfaces if sims get hungry they can just sit and eat right there), buy tickets into certain doors booking their own singing booths (higher priced tickets for bigger rooms).

· Nail Salon - Massage chairs (to roleplay nails getting done), spa rabbit hole rug (to get nail moodlets), stylist station (to actually change nails).

· Simphora - Custom role generator for staff, mirror to change make-up looks. Savvier seller to buyLipstick,Deodorant spray, variousbag clutter.

· Community center – Resume building class, Sim can take resume building class from the computer lab to simulate it. Job Agency center. Youth Center with board games, ping pong table, daycare center. Mini Gym. Indoor basketball Court. Food drive (for aesthetic). Driving school (teens must have befriended the custom role generated adult sim for them to be taught), can optionally have teen sims sit and learn in a mini classroom at “Driver’s ed” for however long you want, they can practice driving in the car a little bit at a time a day, or spend that time in the classroom reading a book about cars and socializing w/ the driver’s ed teacher until they become friends so they can teach that sim how to drive. I’m sure you can fake a driver’s license with one of the many cards that come with the bag clutter collection to place in that sim’s inventory or personal storage. This could also double as your new city hall, if you place some offices on a second and/or third floor. I am thinking to make the community center the new season’s festival lot as well. I’m tired of having the festivals happen in big parks, personally. Plus, I think more interesting activities can take place on the inside and more things can be done. But also, I can decorate the community center according to the season which would be really fun.

· Seasonal Festival Lot Ideas– summer: Add farmer’s market for summertime fruits and vegetables for cheaper, any custom foods that could be eaten in the summer? Savvier seller. Rollerblading skate park (small parking lot). Savvier seller functional fans, mosquito repellant, beach towels, and sunscreen. A summer fair should actually come to town, place down arcade games to simulate festival games, carousal, Ferris wheel, face painting, hot dog eating, small show time stage for aspiring performers. Mini Water park, water slide, water balloon fight. Fall: Grandpa’s tractor Grove hay ride. An actual Halloween mansion attraction (could just be an empty room in the community center with a maze and walk through, transmogrify a door at the end of the maze into the EA haunted mansion to get the moodlet and experience). Winter: knitting classes, make a knitting classroom with a sewing machine savvier seller the tools needed, Sims should autonomously knit on the lot with the objects being there. I mostly send my Sims on vacation during the winter, since they have so much time off from work and school. But I also like to throw holiday parties without the actual EA assigned holiday parties (not until the actual day of celebration), just because I like to have my sims get together with friends and family a lot more indoors during the fall and winter. I like having my sim prepare food, and special gifts to hand out to special Sims during these parties as well. Christmas Tree farm. Spring: coupled with the kissing booth a sex ed class is also provided during this season. As well as option 2 pills (which I can double as birth control pills), and condoms for sale.

· Christmas Tree Farm.

· Drive-In Movie Theater – Use Outdoor movie TV. Place fake cars on fake parking spots (white flat fence line) using OMSP. Overlay the cars to match up with seating like loveseats. May have to place down platforms and then the loveseats to make up for the height difference with the fake cars. Have the Sims watch the movie from inside the fake cars. Add popcorn machine. This should theoretically work since objects placed on OMSP are not factored into Sims routing or even their 3d world. They may get the boosts from decorations and art however they will walk through the objects as it’s not shown as being an obstacle in their pathway. Combined with the Flo Theory’s nap in all chairs mod Sims will default to relaxing and talking anyway. So as long as you don’t add a bunch of other objects to the lot that would interest Sims into getting out of their “car seats” and interacting with it, the Sims should be pushed to relax for 2 hours, auto watch a movie, and talk with other sims nearby from their car seats. This is the best work around I can think of for a more realistic and functional drive-in theater to work with the game’s limitations. So if you go to add the little movie showing technical office for the projector to the lot, it would be purely for decoration.

· Mini Golf Center/ Putput I see two versions of this, a high society club version, focused more on landscape and greenery. I have a golf gift shop set. And a fun-themed golf course, with different aesthetics all around the lot. I have invisible golfing stations to match up nicely with both versions of these lots. These objects are what we want our Sims to focus on the most so I would add a photo booth and vending machine to keep the moods up and have something interesting for Sims to do on dates/outings. That way all the NPC’s that come to this lot will be using the golfing stations the most.

· Hiking Trail/Campgrounds – Although this does also depend on the kind of world you’re in.

· Strip club – Passion adds a pole dancing mod, add strippers through custom role generator. Then assign them to the poles. They will dance until their role generated time to leave.

· Brothel – Custom role generate Sex workers. Only thing is with my settings for the Passion mod, I would need to build a rapport and relationship with them first. But that would just make my sim a regular ;).

· Basketball court – Always loved the random small basketball court lots placed around random cities.

· Internet Café – I’ve always loved the Korean style internet café’s, with the dark lit rooms, cubicles, neon lights, and self-serving food machines. This lot would be so tiny but detailed it can be easily combined with another lot, built into a small room in the back or an alleyway, etc. Sims would mostly come here to play video games, but I would place some card games in the back somewhere to also simulate gambling.

· Bank – Mostly aesthetic lot, however can be used as a business rabbithole with ultimate careers to make it more functional. That way Sims wil already be assigned and working here if you want to “inquire” about a loan through the banking mod. Deposit or withdraw money. Or wire transfer. Alternatively add a vault with WA money to “Rob”, rules I would apply though is if any sim saw you out around the time of robbing then you gotta take your Sim self to Prison. Can’t have witnesses, sorry.

· Magic the Gathering/DnD Hangout – Again I like to add variety, and so a tiny little hangout for nerdy sims to congregate and play DND and various cardgames (@ATS3 for the objects), placing lots of medieval and magic like decorations around, could maybe even double as a magic store. Not like supernatural magic but showtime magic, as I feel that career never really got enough attention.

· Lemonade stand – Would be placed more in the neighborhood areas of the world. Possibly consider custom role a child sim who may auto man the station. If not just hope a child sim somewhere in the world is there when you’re passing by.

· Garage sale – This would be included in my shopping lot idea’s post but can also be used for Leisure and a more functional or secondary thrifting experience for your Sims. However, I’ve thought of also adding cheap misc deco to the savvier seller obj as a way for my Sims to build up and prepare for the decoration of their homes. Same for furniture stores with higher end objects. I’ll end up going through my builds and adding whatever anyway but I thought it would be pretty cool to already have some of the décor I would’ve added anyway already in my family inventory. This adds a layer of immersion outside of “ordering the stuff online” for my playstyle.

· Church – Using Sonyau’s Ultimate career, can manually set a sim from the politics career to this lot as a preacher (Custom role a preacher, Nraas MC a politics career, manually assign the preacher sim to the lot). If the only interactive obj on the lot is a podium then they’ll be using that most of the time while there. Add custom nuns (and deco nuns), townies will show up sit on the benches and talk, etc.

· Gun range – And gun shop, savvier seller the gun mod objects, cc ammo. Place the target pins at the end and have your sims practice shooting. The cool part is police and military careers gain experience from these objects in Sonyau’s UC, so I like adding armory’s and shooting ranges to those lots, as well.

· Hunting shop – With so many recent mods to make hunting possible in the game this is as good a place as any to buy those objects.

· Animal shelter – Not to be confused with pet vet or pet salon, I also have deco animals I can place in here as well, with Nraas consigner it’s made possible to actually sell pets sim to sim, I would use this as an alternative place to do so, but this lot would mostly be for aesthetic purposes, maybe with a custom animal career (linked to ea medical), you could get more functional play from it.

· Bingo Hall – Using Ani’s card game mod, could simply add to tables, in front of a stage, maybe some lottery CC on it, sims should use the cards placed out but if all else fails just add sitting deco sims.

· Modern dojo/Boxing gym/ MMA gym – a secondary kind of gym focused on the more martial of the arts.

· Buffet style house – There is a mod where you can select food for the buffet tables but I never figured it out. Instead I would transmogrify dining tables, and place custom food onto plates, and go down a line. NPC’s may or may not sit down to eat right then and there, but deco sims can always save the day.

· Comedy club – With comedy mic. Would be mostly focused on seating and allowing NPC’s and active Sims to show their skills on the mic.

· Ballet Studio/Dance Studio – can be made functional with certain custom careers. In general apply obj in a way where the townies who show up will auto use it as well.
