Easy to follow experiments with items we already had around the house for many of the experiments. However, a few did call for items we didn’t have like dry ice and chemicals. The book contains sciences experiments in biology, chemistry, physics, planet earth, and the human body. Experiments contain the steps of the scientific methods, materials needed, scientific explanations for what’s happening and words to know. The text is well laid out with pencil drawings and green/purple writing. However, I feel the layout is meant for upper elementary middle school science class or sciences enthusiast due to the lack of dynamic photos and graphic text. This title would not engage a child not interested in science. Some experiments do take several days to complete.
Some experiments had fun facts, jokes, or science online for further learning. I would like to see this title updated with a glossary and dynamic graphics.

Tom Robinson's "The Everything Kids' Science Experiments Book" has been a game-changer in my quest to engage my neices and nephews into science. As someone passionate about doing hands on learning activities,I appreciate Robinson's approach, He makes experimentation accessible with easy-to-follow instructions and common household items. Even though this book doesnt have any awards, its importance lies in its ability to transform a boring simple day into an exciting scientific exploration. As an aunt and teacher eager to instill a love for learning, I find this book to be an amazing way to get children off the screen time and to do something fun, but also educational.

Just had a large variety of science experiments that worked great with my 6-year-old niece and my 9-year-old son. We also loved the fact that you could make little notations like a real scientist after the experiment explaining how it went. A lot of different experiments to try set up in different categories. I thought this was a great idea for kids and to get them more interactive in their reading

3 1/2 stars -- a little old for my preschooler, but the layout was very clear and I DID appreciate the explanations of WHY included with each section. Science is not my natural turn of mind, so I appreciate having someone else lay out an experiment for me. I photocopied a couple experiments to do at a later date, but I don't feel the need to own a copy. I recommend checking this book out of the library.

December 8, 2016This book is great for second and upper aged elementary students. Some words are hard to understood, but can be inferred its meaning based out of what the book is trying to share. Defiantly great for science lovers.

Easy read and easy to do experiments. The best part is most of the things needed are already in our kitchens. This has been a life saver during our recent snow days.
